Forum editor advice please..

For example if I quote a post:

I get a load of edit marks and also when writing out a post the smilies have vanished. When I do line spacing the editor often ignores them and shoves everything logether in a lump.

Any one have a remedy?

I have a similar issue when using the quick editor in firefox.

Using the full editor seems to work fine.

Have you tried turning off the realtime editor in your user account settings? Just to test if the HTML tags still appear?
