I was referring to another (non-cycling) forum. The animation of the icons there, is purely in the colours and difficult to 'latch on' to. I think the animated 'sheets of paper' (if that's what they are) on this forum are perfectly obvious and unmistakeable, so long as you have a browser that supports them (IE certainly does).nigelnorris said:

Slightly moving off-topic... it's odd, don't you think, how things we read on-screen still have the 'printed-on-paper' form as a frame of reference (like the icons on this 'ere forum). Noboby's going to print them out to read them are they? The word 'documents' also assumes an ultimate printed form, though the term covers things which may well not end up being printed. Personally, being almost perfect in every way, I try to print out only what I really really have to... the number of peeps at work who print out their emails to read is ridiculous!
