Great write up Colin and great pics.
I was a tad overgeared for that climb, but that's all part of the fun.

I rode behind him........... and it was like watching a slo-mo scene in a movie.

I have already planned the same ride with the group I ride with for the end of May. I really liked that route.

I really wish I could have come, but with GCSE exams 3 weeks away and work deadlines getting closer and closer, I just couldn't justify coming along.
If I remember rightly, you have forum rides planned this summer, Colin? I should be able to attend those.

They were called GCEs (a.k.a. 'O'-levels) when I did mine, and when your dad would have done his - 43 years ago - *gasp*! Good luck with them.

If I remember rightly, you have forum rides planned this summer, Colin? I should be able to attend those.

I'm sorry I missed the ride as well but I was in the Lakes, entertaining overseas business visitors with a boat trip on Windermere then a rather good lunch at a posh hotel. How I suffer!

Nice work if you can get it! Not sure I would cope with the 40 degree heat in the Sudan though ...

Pencil in Sat, 30th May for the next Bowland ride. I am going to be rather busy with visits from family members for the next couple of weeks so I will try to get the ride thread up soon rather than leaving it until too close to that date.
