Fossy Jnr in hospital

I'll be off line for a bit.

Got to dash home to collect Miss Fossy as Master Fossy (13 yrs) is in hospital.

He's been drinking and pee'ing rather a lot recently, and not eating 'proper food', and has lost some weight.

Got him an emergency appointment at Docs and had immediate blood tests. Came back with high blood sugar and high keytones, so it was straight into the Childrens Unit for further detailed tests.

GP and Nurses have been very prompt (they don't mess about with kids). Hope it's not diabetes.

That's on top of a load of crap over the last few weeks at school (bullying) and trouble at Scouts last night.

I'll update later.

I hope he gets well soon. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 19 and I was doing the whole peeing/drinking thing too back then along with the weight loss. Whatever it turns out to be, he's in the right place. All the best.

Sorry to hear it.

Sounds very much like type 1 diabetes. My eldest nephew was diagnosed age 10 and manages it beautifully. It takes a lot of adjusting to in the early months, but soon becomes a part of every day life.

He's now 16 and a fine, healthy specimen!
