Man bags can be very useful but do not forget Rohan and Craghopper shirts which have two decent-sized breast pockets plus a large second-layer breast pocket which can take wallet, passport, boarding cards, mobile phone and baggage tickets — an absolute boon for getting through airport controls. In winter, wear a zip cardigan or you will find your passport trapped under a jumper. Another great strategy is to wear a VOMP — a Vest Of Many Pockets — which is a convenient garment so long as the staff do not insist on you removing it to go through the scanner. Those breast pockets, by the way, are essential for glasses on one side and notebook and pen on the other. After proper pocket planning, man bags take you to the next level, including water and sandwiches.

With the advent of mobile payments it’s now possible for a man to leave home with just house keys and a phone. I do it all the time.

No car keys, reading glasses and or cash just in case the cafe is cash only.

I used to have a largish man bag for work which Mrs W threw as she said it looked knackered. So I got a smaller one about the size of an IPad but with more volume.
In it goes phone, wallet, reading glasses, sun glasses, car keys, house keys, pen and paper. Would I want all that stuff in my pockets. No thank you.
Last I used it there was also lipstick and dog pooh bags added.
I recently got a larger bag bought by daughter dearest for my birthday which is great for when you are going on a trip.
