Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Well done for reporting it. Someone'll be missing the bike, I hope they remember to at least report it.

Er... maybe I missed this bit but.... where was it found?

It's as much of a mystery as my first road bike, a 2006 Specialized Roubaix that I found one Saturday morning early in 2009 dumped off a bridge into a brook, almost unridden judging by the condition, but with a dented rear rim and burst tyre. I took it to the Police who laboriously filled in a report in a big old ledger then tore a bit off as my receipt. At that point I knew there was very little chance of the "found" report being linked up with any "stolen" report on a computer. A month later when the Police gave it back to me, my abandonment of my poor old mountain bike was complete and I became a road cyclist.

Found in the road, early hours. Whoever had been riding it last had abused it. Covered in mud, with both brakes having been released.
Bike shop used to keep a record of frame numbers. So there's a chance it'll be returned to the person who bought it.
Got offered the chance of keeping it for 28 days, rather than the police collect it, then it becoming legally mine at half seven this morning.
At least I've tried to get it returned.

Where in the British Isles did you find this bike? I've read and re-read your post but I don't think you've told us!

About 50 yards from where I live.
Part of West Yorkshire. Not far from the poster above me.
