Carlton was my first real racing bicycle, I sort of started collecting Worksop built Suns then, and this meant I collected a few Birmingham built Suns too, prior to the Raleigh take over.

A couple more Carltons both from approx 1971, the Continental I have had since 1976, much modded. Both have classic Carlton Imichrome decals.

There is a well known Edwardian book on steam launch engines, about halfway through the author changes from one spelling to the other.
