BBC News can be infuriating, in that it often fixates on a major story to the exclusion of all else. A few days ago I was watching the news, which was entirely given over to on-the-spot comment from journalists in Cairo and studio-based speculation on likely outcomes of the protests. The problem was that : 1. It didn't take long for the participants to start repeating themselves, apparently unaware that they were doing so, and 2. It was thd ay after the New Zealand earthquake, and I was hoping to learn a bit about that.
This is for me a major failing of the Beeb. All the way back to the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster (and possibly before), it has had this habit.
