I bought a Triban 3 - no regrets - love it and at the moment it will do me for good (yeh I know...)
Similar with my Mountain Bike - a Giant Boulder that cost me about £300 in 2010
Now, I can see the differences in gears, wheels, brakes etc between both bikes and their £1000 counterparts, but what about frames.
Surely a 70** or 60** is the same material whoever joins it together ? As I can't imagine any bike builder saying don't weld this properly as it's a cheaper bike what actually makes the alloy frame on an expensive bike "better" to justify the price ?
I have seen posts saying " it's probably not worth upgrading this frame.....". Why not ?
I understand steel has different grades, but alloy ?
Thanks in advance for information
