Frame protection

Anyone got any advice on frame protection. I've noticed on my specialized that I've got some rubbing where the cables meet the head tube. My new bike has a lovely matt finish and I'm paranoid I'm going to ruin it. It's a aluminium bike if that makes any difference.

A bit of electrical tape. Swap it out occasionally! Or spend a larger amount of money on a specific product.....

I use sellotape myself.
Works just as well as any branded product.

polyurethane protective tape also known as helicopter tape. I use electrical tape (same colour as the frame) and also wrap some around the cable where it touches the frame.

cut to the size you want, plenty there to keep you going for a bit.

Go to a sign maker and buy a couple of meters of the clear vinyl they print car signs on - it is thinner than helicopter tape, just as good and a lot cheaper. I use it on all vulnerable surfaces - front of down tube, back of seat tube etc - and just cut to fit. It is all but invisible and easy to remove. If you are bothered about it being too sticky, apply it first to another surface to reduce the stickyness.
