I just picked this Orbit America up on eBay for £34.
Although there appears to be no 531c sticker, I have a feeling it's made of said material as it has short horizontal dropouts. Any ideas? I remember Orbit from years back, so took a chance - though I'm sure I'll be able to tell when I get my filthy mitts on it and whack it on the scales.
I'm tempted to cut off the lugs and rattle-can it pimpy white, as the paint scheme ain't doing much for me. Should I or shouldn't I partially disfigure an old frame?
I'm thinking old Brooks, On-One Midge bars, faux leather tape, and big chunky tyres for that old-skool path-racer 'chap' look! I'll have to grow a 'tache though for the full effect!
(I already have an old 531 plain gauge frame which I use for fixed, but as it has vertical drops it's not ideal for chain tension, although I've attacked them with a Dremel to give me ~3mm of play. I'm going to put gears back on this and use it as my general hack)
