Apparently Haringey council is running a series of free bicycle maintainance and repair sessions over the next couple of months on saturdays in some of the borough's parks:

Pay a visit to Doctor Bike

Cyclists are being encouraged by Haringey Council to take advantage of free bike check-up and minor repair sessions taking place every Saturday in the borough's parks.

The Doctor Bike sessions, organised by the council and funded by Transport for London, take place every Saturday from 12noon to 3pm.

Cyclists can pick up free cycle maps and leaflets, while those over 12 who live, work or study in Haringey will also be able to sign up for cycling training for free, or at a cost of just £5 if they are in employment.

Cabinet Member for Environment and Conservation, Cllr Brian Haley, said:

"We want to encourage everyone in Haringey to use alternative transport to the car wherever possible. This will improve the environment by reducing congestion and cutting carbon emissions.

"I hope residents and visitors to the borough will make use of these free sessions and that they will be encouraged to cycle more regularly."

The next sessions will take place at:
16 February: Finsbury Park, N4
23 February: Bruce Castle Park, N17
1 March: Finsbury Park, N4
8 March: Priory Park, N8
15 March: Finsbury Park, N4
22 March: Bruce Castle Park, N17
29 March: Finsbury Park, N4

For more information about the sessions, call Cycle Training UK on 020 7231 6005.
