Free Blog Sites

A local society has set up a 95km walking route in my area. It is called the Camino Haderslev Naes and takes in 9 churches in our area.

I would like to make a blog about the route as I think it would also make a good day ride for cyclists. I have never made a blog and am pretty useless with computers, but I am willing to give it a go.

Has anyone had experience with free, very simple blog makers.

Any help would be gratefully accepted.

I've been poking around for help with this and stumbled across a site called wpbeginner which seems to be genuinely quite helpful and informative. I can't vouch for anything beyond first impressions - haven't actually tried anything out yet - but it might be worth a look.

Wordpress for me too.

Reasonably straight forward to use. Worth playing with just a couple of trial posts and a page, and trying out a good few templates (there's a lot of free ones) - much easier finding one that matches your content early on, than trying to change the template later!

I think there's a plugin to get websites out of Blogger and into Wordpress when you realise what an awful mistake you've made, but is there one to escape from WIX yet?

With any of those options, if you use their free-cost domain names, it makes it more difficult to move the website to someone decent later. It's the Hotel California business model: you can check out any time you like but you can never truly leave.
