Is this really free? I hate downloading crap. Anyone used it? Anyone any idea why someone (it appears to be sky) would offer it? Am I going to be hit with loads of adverts/spam?

I've got the app on android, it works most of the time when there's coverage but I still sometimes have to manually connect.

I haven't noticed any increase in spam either.

I use it in a couple of pubs I frequent. Works fine, no spam. I have never got automatic login to work, so I log in manually.

Why not just use a web browser? What else is their app doing with your phone and battery? If it's shown as running all the time in settings: apps and not only when you launch it, I'd be very suspicious. At least check it with OS Monitor or similar and look on the network tab see who it's grassing you up to.

The NSA don't need to fund them. They just order Google to replace the one on the app store with their special custom build... or if they just want to follow/locate people, serve intercept orders on any servers the app talks to and then the marks can't see any changes in the app because there aren't any.

that's fine- its only work contacts - any of the secure numbers will get the divert.
