Free Wheel Hub Problem

I had to replace the freehub on my Boarder recently. One day it was OK, the next it was jammed, and this was due to corrosion of the pawls and ratchets inside after unnoticed water ingress. I freed it off somewhat with lots of GT40/WD85 and extensive twiddling on the bench, but it was never the same after, so it had to go.

Shimano did make some hubs that need special freehubs. You need to identify the hub and then check the compatability
