Looking on the "Sun" newspapers website regarding the retuning of freeview on Wednsday, at the bottom I saw the following remark:-

>>>The changes also mean that some 460,000 households which get their TV channels from a relay transmitter will no longer be able to watch ITV3 and ITV4.<<<

This could be bad news for some of us who rely on watching cycling on ITV4, lets hope its sorted for those effected by the change for next year when the tours start again.

ITV3 stays with the other ITVs and will be available on all digital transmitters

It's all a bit messy but this seems to be right:

If I lived somewhere with a 3 multiplex (Public Service only) repeater as my only transmitter I think I'd buy a Freesat box and a dish as a result of this!

As it only generally affects people who didn't have ITV4 before switchover I have a feeling complaints will get little response.

If the government hadn't decided to sell off about 1/3 of the UHF TV band to the highest bidder everybody would be able to have all of the digital services AND HD

according to radio 4 a small number will lose itv 3 and 4 as they are in places broadcast from a number of internediate transmitters and these will no longer transmit. believe this is to make way for channel 5 Pah!
