This afternoon I thought I would go for a quick 15 mile spin as the fog that had been covering York all day seemed to be lifting.
Bad move, as I had barely gone a mile before freezing fog descended again. I decided to persevere thinking I couldn't get too cold. However after about five miles I realised that ice crystals were forming all over my clothing, and by the time I got home I had little lumps of ice all over me.
The worse thing was that as soon as I entered my warm house I realised that the end of my willy had gone numb with the cold
, and I then went through quite a painful period as it warmed up and returned to room temperature - a bit like frozen fingers warming up, but a lot more painful.
Anyone got any sensible suggestions for avoiding such a mishap in the future?
