Friday Frightening Night

I think my lads did a few trick or treats with mates when there younger, certainly not many as they weren't really interested. My daughters by another mother where different altogether and the subsequent grandkids are mad for it. So I have no choice but attempt to participate in whatever they drag me into.

Matt Stephen’s was really good last night, promised the current wife a few drinks afterwards and it had overrun so didn’t wait for a pic, then he came into the pub. So that was easier

Short run later and then probably the pub. Might be a swim and sauna first

Still feeling chilly up here in Scotland, took Bertie for a stroll round the village. Then he spent the rest of the morning helping Mrs W and daughter dearest plant the plants we brought up with us. Which ended up with one grubby puppy. Later is in to St Andrews for a meal.

Busy working from home. Oh the joys of it. Bread made in breadmaker, kettle and Gaggia descaled, load of washing done as well as being more productive than at work!!

This evening I'll mostly be wearing this. No f'kin sweeties for the kids! Grrrrrr.....

The unwritten rules, such as they are around here, is that only houses with Halloween stuff attatched get knocked on by the kiddies..

Our neighbours are elderly and tbh they find it intimidating, luckily we manage to divert little visitors away from them to ourselves. Downside is that its my haribo that gets hammered.

I just gave my Amazon delivery driver a lollipop!
I thought he was a trick or treater so I opened the door with a big bowl of sweets.
He was very grateful but his costume wasn’t very good.

I'd have told him that you've got him a sweet but it's hidden in the garden behind the house 6 doors down.

First year in our new house. Wife likes to make Halloween goody bags but only made 10 as according to her "I don't see many kids around here". They were gone by 5pm. Literally been handing out any bit of chocolate we could find, I was getting dangerously close to handing out my cycling energy bars 😂

I am sorry. I usually join in with celebrations of all types but halloween is the only one, I have no interest in.

Its an Americanism to start with. Trick or treat. We egg your house if you do not give us something for free. Its a celebration of nothing.

In our village, if there are no obvious haloween, pumpkins, etc, outside the house. The children are not allowed to visit.

The children who do visit houses have to be accompanied by an adult and they have to be in costume. It prevents groups of 16 year old youths from knocking on your door.

These 'guidelines' are put on the village FB page every year, just before halloween. Not suprising for Denmark. They are adhered to.

Sorry. I have just got to go and slap Bob Cratchett. He is slacking. 😁😁
