John Cale was, in my opinion, the unique something that made the Velvet Underground's 1st 2 albums classics.

Strangely, my mate Nick (who achieved some fame as the main man behind Lemonjelly, who achieved enough popularity to get a top 10 hit and get Nick on TOTP - which was always his dream.

Anyhow, Nick is now Cale's producer and mixer. They even go on holiday together - diving the Great Barrier Reef recently. Those crazy rock and roll guys.
