There's a clear line between gay anthems and just bad mainstream disco, which has been crossed a few times on his thread! Camp doesn't mean crap. I'm not even gay and I can recognise a gay anthem when I see one. It needs:

1. A huge beat
2. A big-voiced diva (male or female - Loretta Holloway, Sylvester etc.*)
3. Length - in fact, the full 12-inches (ahem...)
4. Ebb and flow - an anthem needs to have calmer parts and then come back pounding (double ahem...)
