If you want to offend politically correct people, Bloodhound Gang is always a useful fallback option.

Just cos a song has rapping doesn't mean it's hip-hop but as nobody is sticking to that, I give you:

Mancunian in self imposed exile in leafy Cheshire
Acid techno giving a nod to hip hop. A point for anyone who knows what's being sampled here

and here

That will be NWA. :okay:

This is too good a "Friday Night..." thread not to spend an hour putting a playlist together;

Thanks to everyone who contributed. Nice to have one that isn't mostly geezers with guitars, once in a while.
Yeah, I normally ignore these threads or just post up some obscure techno track that nobody's heard of but this one's been great.

I always used to joke with my ex wife that this song was about her. It wasn't a joke though, she used to watch complete sh1te all the time... Great track though.

From the first album I bought with my own money - still have the vinyl.

Given this is a rerecording of a hip-hop track by its original artists, plus the group they namechecked in that song, this is still most definitely hip-hop. And still the greatest rap/metal crossover track. Had the pleasure of seeing them play it live together back in '92.

Ha. Seen both bands perform it seperately, but never together. PE still one of the best live shows I've seen, and that was even pretty recently in the scheme of things.

But yeah, that totally is hip-hop.

PE aren't what they were live (IMHO), still fun though. 1992 Reading headline slot was awesome, overshadowed somewhat by the following night (Nirvana) of course....
