Lots of stuff gets called 'mod' but I mean the real 60s deal here. UK white boys into US soul music, who did their own noisy takes on things, and of course the soul that inspired them too.

Saw Steve Marriot play in a pub in Leeds before his untimely death. A true mod band rather than just on the sixties bandwagon.

I wanted to post the thunderous proto-motorik driven How Does it Feel to Feel? but it's heavy rather than dancey so wasn't sure it fitted the bill. Definitely maybe influential, not least when it came to Alan McGee naming bands and record labels.
