One of O. Winston Links best known recordings, taken on Christmas Eve, 1957 at Rural Retreat, West Virginia.
You first hear the quarry of this recording at 1.30... But things only really get going at 3.28 onwards.
At 4.02, it all kicks off!
In the background, you hear cars, a poignant reminder that steam finished on this service a week later, another part of old America gone.
Listen to it accelerate away into the night!
The woman, Kathryn Dodson, who only died a few years back aged 90something, doing the bell ringing in the nearby church was instructed to play throughout:
