Actually The Bullingdon pub looks like it's had Dave and his chums in giving the place a good hard kicking.

That's frustrating. Can't find any video of it, but we used to go and watch live music at the General Wolfe, Coventry in the late 70s early 80s. I remember we got all excited about one band who sounded a bit like Genesis who played the Wolfe loads, and headlined reading in about '83..... Marillion. I can still smell the sweat in the back room, which was basically a corrugated tin extension at the back of the pub. That's if you could smell the sweat over the leb and patchouli....... Ah, to be stoned young again!

Many of these clips promise a lot and deliver very little.

There may be something on YouTube which is not a disappointment, but I've never seen it.

You're generally never going to get anything close to being at a live show when it's something that's been filmed on an mobile phone, plenty of good stuff on you tube though...amongst the acres of dung.

Fed up with big venues? You don't like the Rainbow banner twenty yards in front of you that blocks your expensive view ( and three hunded others') of a tiny TV screen half a kilometre away? Sure, the lady on her boyfriend's shoulders looking all ecstatic for the TV news and seems to be having fun, but you can't see round her bum.
Any chance of some of you good people posting some "small venue" clips? If anybody has one of Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd at that club in Alabama, I would be very grateful.

.

Totally OT, but a small venue story.

We used to frequent the Cambridge Corn Exchange and saw many bands there including the Stranglers

However the most memorable was Dr Feelgod.... At the interval, DR Feelgood and the support band came on stage, stood in silence then announced the death of several mebers of Lynnrd Skynnrd in an air crash.

The hall then fell silent whist Freebird was played in tribute.. very emotional and still brings tears to my eyes every time I hear the song
