I was in my late 20's/early 30's when I firs saw this, & still think it's brilliant (with the backgrounds, as the producers called it - 'Dark Deco')
Got to be some of the best voice-casting on TV too!!

This one TERRIFIED us, especially the scene where the guy gets murdered by the being bitten by the venomous snake in his bed!! (He got in and then the snaked slithered in and bit him without him knowing it was there).
It had little to do with the fact that it was snakes and spiders, it was more to do with the ease and downright mundaneness of some of the deaths, I mean, at School the next day, just about everyone said that they had checked their bed for snakes before getting in!!
...... And then there was the Spider in the parcel.....:
