He's pretty awesome. He first came to notice as half of Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, then formed Spearhead, which was basically a soul outfit. These days he does stuff with an ever-changing mix of people, and he's a really excellent songwriter, a social and political activist, and just a lovely guy. The best album he's done, I would say, is 2001's Stay Human, but everything he's done is worth getting.

Wow - I didn't know what happened to them.

I liked "TV - the drug of the Nation" and "California Uber alles" / although I somehow found them a teensy-bit self-righteous.

I much prefer Hey World - judging by the one song you posted!

That'll show up on my I-Pod.

I remember you posting "The Real Great Britain" by the Asian Dub Foundation a few weeks ago from 1990 (which was a forgotten gem for me), and I've put it on my gym I-pod playlist - which means I hear it all the time. A real classic.

EDIT - essential viewing for Stoney et al.

In fact it should be essential viewing for all British children. (takes cover hastily)

This is the one and only song that makes me cry.

Yellow Fang - Johnny the Horse by Madness/Ian Dury is an inspired choice, by the way.

It is one of their better later songs. Sugar and Spice is pretty miserable too from their last LP: The Liberty of Norton Folgate, although I was disappointed with the LP as a whole.
