Something you definitely won't have heard of, but you should. This is my favourite band from the town where I live, The Gertrudes, and this is an accoustic take of their beautiful song, Hard Water.

If you want to hear what they sound like in full flow, you can check the other water-related song, Turn Out The Lights (The River Song), on their Myspace page. It builds and ebbs and surges...

Zero predictability here.....!

Try Track 12 of THIS; a most stunningly beautiful Fire on the Mountain. Things get especially interesting at around 3'12" and continue to the end as Jerry's ideas just keep on flowing.

Took me weeks to work out how to play it!

And you can't beat Creedence Clearwater Revival for high-calibre swamp boogie, of course.

Most people think of John Fogerty just as a singer-songwriter, not realising just how good he is/was at playing......his guitar/harmonica workouts on Keep On Chooglin' in the 60s and 70s are masterpieces of raw power.
