Love 'em or hate 'em, which band comes from your manor?

This lot come from a couple of miles across town, and everyone under thirty claims that they either went to school with one of them, or their sister went out with them.
Not my cup of tea, but, Kasabian

That's 3 of us from Leicester then

There are no more bands from Leicester

'Gaffa' were the big local band in my formative years and the first live band I saw... at The Imperial's Cooler Bar, St James Street in Nottingham way way back in 1979. I bought their 1st and only album, 'Neither use nor Ornament', and played it to death before lending it to a mate, who I then lost touch with and so the album was lost.

However it was re-released at the beginning of this month (1/3/2014), so I've been re-acquainting myself with those teenage memories

Anyhoo here's Gaffa on their only TV appearance: BBC Midland's Look Hear

Girl in our year was Rev Munroe's daughter... Rev Munroe was the vicar for Methley in the late 60s/ early 70s... he used to let a band practise in the church hall.

They decided to call themselves Mott the Hoople... stupid name but they sounded good.
