I wondered if someone would post GG. The problem is that his music was essentially crap (I'm being generous here) and he was a horrible person (I'm being kind here).
If is fair to say though that he didn't conform to industry norms!

Re GG - fair enough... Always amused over the adulation by other musicians who were lining up to be his backing band at times.
Fugazi - was lucky enough to see them on their first uk tour / that album, also more of a fan of Rites of Spring, than Minor Threat...
Fugazi though, the band as a collective, organised own tours, sold millions of records, ignored big labels and chose to disband... .
& Dischord Records...
