Erm…. 1975

Oops. Wrong version. There was another release (live) in 1987, with the E street band.

This throw away pop song is a classic of 80s pop. The singing is faultless and the musical arrangement is perfect. Coupled with fantastic storytelling.
Chef’s kiss 💋

Perfect production
The stand out track from Lexicon Of Love

Sometime, l wonder if that particular track is where Tindersticks got the idea to incorporate strings in their songs?

I've been listening to a few 80s tracks/LPs recently

Lloyd Cole & The Commotions; Rattlesnakes (the title track is wonderful)
Big Country; Steel Town
Restless; Why Don't You Just Rock
Ricky Skaggs; Live In London

Beautifully written, referencing 'On The Waterfront'', for instance

The best of British rockabilly
Mark Harmon (no!, not the NCIS actor), the lead-guitarist also performed on a marvellous version of 'Tainted Love' by Dave Philips & The Hot-Rod Gang

Almost on a par with Jerry Reed, Glen Campbell & Roy Clarke

I'll also add Steve Earle & The Dukes
The well lknown song/LP 'Copperhead Road' was an 80s release
I'll include 2, from the previous LP; 'Guitar Town'
