North To Alaska
Dwight Yoakham

Johnny Horton, who is better known for 'Honky Tonk Man' (also covered by Yoakham!) recorded the song, as used for the film of the same name, but I prefer Dwights

Convoy
CW McCall

This is the film introduction, with the lyrics appropriate to the film
The scene was at White Sands, which is now in military hands, as a testing ground (or was)
The UK single release bore no relationship, particularly in the trucks mentioned at the beginning

McCall wrote extra verses, for quite a few of the films sections

Even after 40 years, it's still one of my favourite films, along with Smokey & The Bandit (the first one)
Can you believe that!

EDIT @ 11:00
There is a chap, down south, who has built/owns absolutely spot-on replicas of 'Ducks' Mack RS700L, & 'Snowmans' W900!!
I'm hoping they're both at Truckfest, at Newark-upon-Trent, in October

Rock Around The Clock
Bill Hayley & The Comets

A double?
There was a film by that name, & it was used as the opening song (one of many fantastic tracks!) for 'American Graffiti'
Again, one of my favourite films, & one that brought a few names to prominance
Try to spot;
Harrison Ford (his first feature film?)
Charles Martin Smith
Ron Howard (ginger kid, in 'Happy Days')
Richard Dreyfuss (Close Encounters)

And, best of all................ Wolfman Jack

Plus, those wonderful cars
Milners 'piss-yellow/puke-green' Deuce
Falfas black '55, which was the same car, used in 'Two Lane Blacktop', but in grey primer, & running a '454' cubic inch!!!
Dennis Wilson (Beach Boys) & James Taylor (Fire & Rain) were the two stars

EDIT @ 10:55
Dreyfuss, Smith & Howard feature here
