To be honest the risk run on group rides is tiny. In deference to Martlets' sensibilities I have prepared a risk assessment which is a bit chunkier than the usual CTC risk assessment, and linked it to a 31 page routesheet that identifies hazards, stopping points and wayfinding points. The whole thing weighs in at about 20mb if anybody is sufficiently interested, but, yes, one of the Martlets riders did ask for the RA, so it was worth doing.
Some of you may have picked up on the thought that we might run a ride for soldiers returning from Afghanistan (not all of them at their best) in 2011, and there'll need to be a bit more formality associated with that, so I thought I'd practice....
