there will be a first aid kit in the van or the minibus. One of our regulars is a former nurse and has offered to help should the need arise, and another of our not so regulars is a doctor.

To be honest the risk run on group rides is tiny. In deference to Martlets' sensibilities I have prepared a risk assessment which is a bit chunkier than the usual CTC risk assessment, and linked it to a 31 page routesheet that identifies hazards, stopping points and wayfinding points. The whole thing weighs in at about 20mb if anybody is sufficiently interested, but, yes, one of the Martlets riders did ask for the RA, so it was worth doing.

Some of you may have picked up on the thought that we might run a ride for soldiers returning from Afghanistan (not all of them at their best) in 2011, and there'll need to be a bit more formality associated with that, so I thought I'd practice....

Who's had the latest Newsnet, then? They've spotted Dellzeqq, Adrian and someone else (User10571?) in Whitstable on Google streetview.

Tucked away upstairs in the Café is this little gem...lettuce be in praise of User10571 (and Adrian the skiver who was doing his best to hide!)

Ah yes. Good job they're a safe distance from that dodgy-looking nutter that's been spotted prowling up and down Kentish Town Road.

I always do.
So do I, and I'll pack some 26" tubes with car valves*. They make good tourniquets I'm told...

...and some insulating tape for use as 'hey presto' instant rim tape, and closing wounds....

*popping presta tubes into mtb wheels with car valve drillings on cheap mtbs is an invitation for further trouble. You knew that already.

spent a couple of hours last year ungluing my 88 year old Dad from a broken ceramic clock he'd just repaired with superglue. Funnier than it sounds probably.

Nasty Greg. Which reminds me of a French rugby counterpart who had the temerity to fall asleep after too much Guinness
Their resident "joker" superglued a pint pot to the bloke's dome!
The day before, a sculpture, using the same product, crockery and cutlery, glasses and bottles, had been painstakingly assembled in the Chinatown restaurant...

So. It is the pre-ride week.
Let's refocus on matters cycling. Everyone's eyes will be glued to this thread.
