Here for rides.
I'm out. Grounded for at least a couple of weeks whilst my largest ever blood blister decides what it wants to do.
Sorry to read this, Greg. Take it steady (no kneeling on a Sunday etc...I'm out. Grounded for at least a couple of weeks whilst my largest ever blood blister decides what it wants to do.
Lancing often has that effect on me. As does Sompting. Shoreham just makes me queasy. How much blood could you store in a large mango?1820699 said:Is it so large that lancing it would necessitate a transfusion?
You can rest assured I for one will be avoiding that!! Hope it gets sorted one way or the other thoughSo best we avoid that.

Seems medical thought is divided on the tricky subject of draining extra arse cheeks. My man favours 'eventual re-absorption' rather than being part of the 'drain and watch it refill' school. Unless it gets infected in which case, to use his words, 'the fun will start'. When I said "How will I know if it gets infected?" he just smiled and said "Trust me, you'll know." So best we avoid that.
That landing spot... is quite large. The grazing covers something larger than A5 on the side of my buttock/hip, the bruising started off there and is now migrating down my leg, and the haemathingy underlies the top half of the original grazing. Fairly common says my man, with hip/thigh injuries. An underlying small blood vessel 'let go' during Friday night, et violá, mango sized lump appears.Greg, this sounds rather unpleasent indeed. Hope it drains away smartish.
Did you land on that spot during your fall or is it completely unrelated ?
Got some exercises to rehab the thumb.
To Adam; are you blasting your way back to Oldstreetium again? If you have a moment, could you let me have your GPS please? I really must do some 'get a move on' riding, without ending up on the tarmac...THE 'new black' for 2012!
It's prolly worth tapping Pippa if you're after a gps of the return route.I think I'll be training it back. I don't have a GPX file for the ride back, as I've only done it once, being lead by User10571 & Pippa on a very scenic route, and the batteries died shortly after Basildon. However, basically it was Basildon, Langdon Hills, through Rainham Marshes Bird Reserve, along the Thames Path to Creekmouth, then zig-zagging on the cycle path mainly alongside the A13, then picking up the Greenway all the way to Stratford/Olympic site, hopping onto the A11 for a bit to Whitechapel, and then up and across to Old Street, for a well earned bottle of Slag (or 3 or 5 or some other prime number).
Greg, I had a similar haemotoma on my thigh after a skiing accident. The gradual re-absorbtion took 18 months , so you might want to think about how inconvenient this could be for you.Lancing often has that effect on me. As does Sompting. useful advice; I've to wait and see if it stabilises first, still early days.Greg, I had a similar haemotoma on my thigh after a skiing accident. The gradual re-absorbtion took 18 months , so you might want to think about how inconvenient this could be for you.
