If I've received money then you have mail

Good afternoon FNRttC shirtpeeps!

I went to Gear Club this morning.

- I had thought that the shirts were manufactured here. They’re not – they’re manufactured in Pakistan and airfreighted here. If any of you find this unacceptable then please do let me know by Friday. I’ve asked for information on minimum wages, but I’m not going to get answers by the end of the week.

- Gear Club’s contact details, for those of you who have asked, are here
http://gearclub.co.uk/contact_us.php?osCsid=d220e1a3798bc49d55997205f0f332a4

- I’m going to get in touch with the clubs whose name appear on the shirt and ask about the service. Remember, though, that Peterborough CTC used Gear Club and were pleased with the service.

- The quality of the shirt is really pretty good, especially considering the price. They all have three pockets at the back and there is an additional little zip pocket. The seams are well done, and the polyester cloth is of decent quality, particularly the piled cloth of the long sleeve version. The zips are YKK. The collar is nicely tailored, and comfortable when zipped all the way up

- Gear Club have lent me some shirts and I’ve tried the Medium of the short sleeved shirt on over a thermal vest and it’s close. It’s the same fit as a Gore medium short-sleeved shirt. I’m a 39.5inch (100cm) chest and I will stick with the medium, but if I was ordering a long sleeve shirt, and perhaps planning on wearing two layers under it I’d go for a Large. The length of the Medium short sleeve version is just ok for me (I’m 6 foot) but not overgenerous – again about the same as the Gore shirt.

- I’ve got a woman’s shirt here, and I’ll be asking Susie to try it on and I’ll report back

- If anybody wants to try on a shirt then please do feel free to come around. I’m afraid I’ve only got medium (men’s and women’s) and extra small (mens).

- Gear Club want to put their logo on the shirt, and I’m agnostic about this. If any of you have strong views, then please get in touch

- One person has asked about short sleeve long zip, and this is do-able. I’ll change the order accordingly. I’m bound to say that you’ve got to have a pretty stupendous figure to carry this off without looking rumpled at the front, so think twice before asking to change to a long zip on a short sleeved shirt

- One person has asked about custom sizing and this will be done

- I’ve held the order until Friday. Ben – you are already on the order. Jeff, Andrew and Mike W – I’ve received your cheques and you will be on the sheet. Andrew – I think you need to look again at the sizing.

So – mens shirts. Please look again at the size, particularly if you’ve ordered a long sleeve shirt.

Women’s shirts – I’ll get back to you on this.

I think that the order will be delivered by 1[sup]st[/sup] July. Further orders will be a minimum of ten, so anybody wanting odd colours will have to find nine friends.

I was the one who recommended Gear Club to Simon. For the price the jerseys are very good (and I own Rapha and Shutt jerseys) and I've had no complaints from my club members.

The Gear Club logos are quite small and in our case do not clash with our colour scheme so I'm not bothered about them. Besides every custom jersey manufacturer prints their logo so what can you do?

You can see our jerseys on a group of men with various sizes of middle age paunch here:

thanks, JT, they do look good.

The logo is sited differently on each shirt design, so it might be sited on the opposite side to the star on the front or on the middle back pocket.

I've spoken to ShuttVR and they are looking at the design. My guess is that their merino prices will be about £85 for a s/s and £95 for a l/s

On their website it shoes the custom short-sleeve with their logo on both arms and right breast. Won't the ones on the arms clash with the stars?

They don't require their logos on the sleeves just the front and back - that's all ours have.

I did confuse matters by making it two Rs rather than one.

That's taking the ultra-heterosexuality to absurd extremes, if you don't mind my saying so. JFK claimed he got a migraine if he didn't get new Rs every day...
