Measue your bottom bracket shell from side to side. If it's 73mm then you need a 2.5mm spacer on the drive side (assuming your front mech is the standard band on type). If its 68mm then 5mm on drive side and 2.5mm on non drive side. If your seatpost tube is oversized then you 'll have to play around with the spacers. What's basically happening is that your chainset isn't far enough out on the drive side.
