Front derailleur

My Sirrus has developed a problem with the front derailleur. I shifted up to the front cog for a while on the ride home but then it woldn't shift down. The cage is not pushing the chain enough. is it an easy fix?

Presuming you mean it won't shift from a larger ring to a smaller one, it's most likely friction in the cable somewhere. Try running oil into the cable housing (the tube the actual cable travels thru'), and look at where it goes round the bottom bracket and dribble some there.

could also make sure front derailier is lubrcated and free to move.
