Had to bin my old cateyes this week. Anybody use the LED type front light are they any good,are they just to be seen or can you see anything with them.

theres a front lights to be seen with thread been running for a while. you may get some useful info from that.

I've just got a set of ay-up lights, which although expensive, are really useful as the kit comes with multiple mounting options.

Most decent front bike lights are now LED lights.
LED lights are now available up to car headlight levels of brightness. The power has to come from somewhere, so the bright ones use separate rechargeable battery packs and may not last very long. The cost for an LED light bright enough for unlit country roads can vary from about £8 up to £800.

As stated above most front bike lights are now LED lights, LED technology has made major advances in resent years, so you now get (in some cases) very bright lights for very low energy consumption leading to far longer battery life.
