I use one of these with my Tesco 3w torch and a bit of old inner tube just to pack the torch out.

Llama - the photo of those two torches aren't actually mine. I originally found them on another forum and simply copied the idea

As well as the cable ties, I've put a thin strip of blue tac on the bracket to sit the torch on and wrapped some tape around the torch/bracket, just for that extra bit of support.

It's very sturdy and I've not had any problems with it.

The Cateye EL 530 is perfectly capable at the price. It sees both me and Mrs A around the dark Lincolnshire lanes and even the black inky nights in the isle of Man last September. Great value IMHO.

The C cell ones at £12 have a much wider beam and are brighter though.
