Sounds painful but nothing with long term implications. Eminently recoverable (except maybe the vertebra fracture) Probably time for him to pack it in.

Isn't this the final year of his contract? But he was out of contention when joined IPT.

And, to be fair, that's where he stayed.

Edit. That sounds a bit unsympathetic, wasn't meant that way. Wishing him a swift and comfortable recovery.

That crash years ago seemed to have affected him. Bernal the same and Jonas recently. Seems to me and I have no proof that a major incident can put you out of contention in today's cycling. Froome was the best but that crash did something to him. However he did win the Giro in 2018 but G won the TdF. The times Froome set are being surpassed by a number of riders now

His crash in 2019 was horrendous, and a lot of well informed people predicted it would be the end of cycling for him. In hindsight it actually was the end of his career as a major player.

Big kudos to him for getting back into the pro ranks but after that 2019 crash he was only really a bit part player (much to IPT's disappointment)

Mrs Cisamcgu just asked "Did Froome ever live in the UK?" I can find nothing to say he did, but my Google skills are not great

Anyone know ?
Maybe not as a permanent resident. Born in Kenya, schooled in South Africa, he moved to Italy when riding with Konica-Minolta and Barloworld, living in Chiara near Milan at one point. I'm not sure where he lived when first joined Sky in 2010, but he moved to Monaco in 2011 and I think still lives there. He spent some time with grandparents in Tetbury near Cirencester and a brother in London, but I don't know if that counts for you.

I think IPT kind of screwed him a bit, they should have got him onboard without any expectations to help guide and encourage the younger riders. That an an aggressive social media campaign should have got much more value from his signing. They did start it a bit as he had a few youtube videos put out but they never followed through on it properly.
