Snow overnight here, now it's starting to melt and the roads are a right mess. Time to look out my Nicky Tams.

Did an hour's ride - it was nippy and windy - thermal top on - fair few other loonies out on bikes as well. Only 3-4c !!!

Nicky Tams is the name given to the string used by farm workers to tie their trousers below the knees to hitch them up out of the mud.

Hence if the roads are dirty you need your Nicky Tams.

Did a turbo session today. It was pretty chilly here in Edinburgh and I thought the club run down to Peebles might hit ice, so I stayed in and then spent a very sweaty hour in front of the tele.

Just got back in from a 12 mile return trip to the video shop. Fingers a bit tingly, and got a bloody p***ture on the FRONT wheel, what's that about?

Spent the day shooting on the Essex Marshes. One of the most uncomfortable days I can remember. Huge wind-chill factor. Glad when I'd had enough.
