Went out today for a nice little 12 miler, wore two layers up top and long shorts and long socks, No Problem!! Yes Problem! my gloves are obviously not winter gloves, well they were only cheap and bought them not knowing how much the cycling bug was going to grab me. So if you would please recomendations for some lovely warm gloves that will keep my hands like bits of toast :cold:
Cheers

In a word ( or number ) #5, #9. You won’t stop the sting, no matter what you do. Layering is the key.

With these

Are my choices at this time of year.

Wear two pairs. Liners and something windproof. I got some v reasonable FWE ones from Evans last winter

However, if it’s very cold (unlike today) you’ll probably always have cold fingers but super hot sweaty palms!

Don't go out and buy thick two-layer gloves with Thinsulate, is my advice. The insulation acts as a dry lubricant between inner and outer and the gloves will squirm on the bars. And your hands will sweat. And you'll have trouble finding the gear levers.

Go for a single layer glove made from a dense material that fits snugly and blocks cold wind. Your hands may feel cold for the first ten minutes but once you've warmed up they will be perfect.

I love the screw fix price and have a store just down the road from me. the altura ones hard to find in stock also massive price differences. also loving the Planet X ones. Planet X also doing deal with over shoes socks and hat for £25

neoprene is your friend.

Edit - just spotted that Polaris have a sale, with neoprene gloves reduced from £28 to £10, maybe worth a punt?

I bought a pair of Zealskins Brecon XP gloves this time last year. They were 4 times the price of some Aldi gloves I had before. They are better, but not 4x better. This year I will try using them with some thin running gloves as a base layer.
