Frozen (very) thin steak, can I defrost like bacon?

So, my wife has just informed me that she wants steak n onion sarnies. Problem being the steaks are frozen.
My wife is convinced I can defrost like bacon ie leave at room temperature or in cold water.
Anyone know for certain if that is correct?

Yes it be can defrosted at room temperature , if it's really thin and is not frozen in one big lump it won't take all day.

If it is very thin I wouldn’t even bother to thaw it. Just cook straight from frozen.
