@The Guys wearing yellow tints,

How is your vision during dusk/night time? Sure it's great for diffusing bright lights but can you still see well enough during 6-8pm?
Depends on the quality of the lenses. All safety glasses I've used are rather bad around dusk but reasonable quality sports glasses are fine. Best bet is to shop around for glasses with replaceable lenses & check out the replacement lens prices &/or get them on special offer. I've got a stack of lenses for my glasses I payed £5 a set for non-Polaroid & £25 set for Polaroid. This allows me to have little stashes of lenses all over the place incase I forget or the lenses get damaged on rides.

I have interchangable lens with my glasses, so I can swap quite quickly between clear or yellows. The yellows in complete darkness are just the same quality as the clears TBH. They are great when the sun is setting though (as well as diffusing car headlights) as they reduce the glare significantly. On days when it is really dull (like today!) i just switch to the clears and duck my visor-helmet head if there is a motorist with full beams on. But yellow lens are a great investment IMO.

As for the main beam problem. From what I've noticed it's drivers of low-end eco boxes & family hatchbacks which aren't dipping down. I wonder if some of these are people who use high-beam assist on their work car & are driving their OHs car which doesn't have it?

Maxx D on the bars, Joystick on the head, both usually on low power but quick'n'easy to bump them up, if required.

That said, I doubt if one car in a thousand doesn't dip as soon as they see me.

It's even worse for us poor low down recumbent riders.

+1 (or 2 or 3) for the yellow lenses. They slightly darken the light and minimise the glare.
