Does your wife shuffle the furniture round the lounge ( or any other room) every now and again?
Mine does and it happened today . It always leads to an argument because we both get irritated in the process. Her, because she wants things moving around until she happy with the new look; me, because I do the moving around and gets fed up . Of course, in the end, she always wins and to be fair, it looks different but good . Next she will be mentioning the dreaded word: decorating! I am waiting for that but keep quiet in the meantime.

I always shift furniture around. I like change and suiting my current mood.

As far as decorating is concerned once it's done and finished in a room it probably won't get changed for at least 8-10yrs unlike my parents who just continually work around the house even in their mid 70s

There is more to life than decorating^_^

My aunty used to move things around whilst my uncle was at work. He's get home to find a different house. She even moved the piano from one room to the next. From the front room down a short corridor to the back room.
She's even give the walls a coat of paint while she was at it. The whole house was painted white and probably had 2-3 repainting a year.
Couldn't and wouldn't do it myself.

I don't have a wife. Is it possible to get one's furniture shuffled in spite of this setback?

No. Perhaps you could make up for it by going to FurniturePineCupboardsRuSVillage every couple of months and enjoy their furnishing shuffles. Free too.

If you get so pi$$ed you can't remember where you were the night before it seems to shuffle itself. My most memorable one was waking up one morning freezing cold and wondering where the blanket had gone from the bed. My mum found it on the landing where it was still smouldering slightly.

Must have been a case of spontaneous combustion during the night.
My wife has some of these plastic sliding shoe things, once you have one under each corner she can slide heavy things about on carpet with the greatest of ease, (you can push a heavy sofa round the living room with one hand) getting her trained up to use a little lever to get the shoe under was the only hurdle.

what we have are quite similar to these goggle images
We had some slidey-things under our couch back in the 1960s... no idea what we called them then (probably "the slidey-things") but I understand they are called castor-cups these days.

My Good lady doesn't shuffle the furniture, she gets me to do it.

The Mother in Law had a habit of doing it when she popped round to check the house when we were on holiday. I was told in no uncertain terms to 'shut up and leave it' by her daughter when I threatened to go round to her place and shuffle her furniture about. Hasn't happened for a while now as she is infirm enough not to be able to do it.
Actually with the size/weight of the corner sofa we now have I couldn't move the thing even if it would fit in a different way.
