divide and conquer, half to alloa and ride up, other half Edinburgh

I did this route as a CTC ride some time ago, and quite enjoyed it. I don't know of cake stop options, though.

My neck of the woods then. Some serious hills in that route well done.

I'll keep watching and will try to join in on one of your outings.

id favour lanark as a starting/meeting point as i think theres a train line from edinburgh and glasgow,however the falkirk thing sounds good both have lovely riding roads around them

Have never been to Lanark (yet) ... any route ideas?
Just add them to growing list:

• East Lothian, starting from The Filling Station Longniddry Station
• West Lothian, starting from Linlithgow
• Midlothian, starting from Embra
• Tour de Falkirk**, starting from FALKIRK !!!
• Langholm border raid. Full length goes via Newcastleton @ 55 miles, or it can be done as the first 27 miles only.
• Borders Raid starting from Loanhead
• Redstone Rigg starting from Musselburgh
• Round the Forth starting Inverkeithing/ South Queensferry
• Dunblane to Kippen starting strangely enough in Dunblane
• Loch Leven starting Inverkeithing
• The Trossachs starting Dunblane
• Arran (different options)
• Lanarkshire (route options?) - ideally starting near the train station
• E Lothian 1 - Longniddry/Haddington - 35km
• E Lothian 2 - Longniddry - N Berwick - Haddington - 50km

Draw up a short Lanarkshire Loop (east from Airdrie) based on roads I done before, I forgotten how hilly the area is though if you want to avoid main roads. Perhaps if Lanarkshire was a option it would be best to be blown by the wind fro Airdrie to Bathgate, via The Cupcake Cafe (Torphicken) and folks can take the train east or west.
