Well, the event has passed, a new dawn has cracked on Libya (the start of the real event some would argue), a Tyrant and the cause of all the problems in the first place has been bumped off his mortal coil and, so, it is inevitable that we will start to wander after a while whilst we wait to see what happens next.

We just need some sustenance whilst we wait for the next act  but if you want to lock it, then I'm sure nobody will object.

The 'locking' bit was a joke.

I am not well informed on the life of Gadaffi (and cant be arsed to Google in an effort to appear informed) but two things strike me.

1. Like smoking, driving without a seatbelt and using your phone whilst driving,...a year or so ago this chap was acceptable and a potential ally... suddenly (like in the last 6 months) we all wish him an ugly tortured death....were his awful actions actions confined to these 6 months or has he always been a nasty bit of work...interesting that our "perception" changed at the will of those who took him out.

2. Whilst watching the TV at around 9.00 that night, a Banner flashed up on the screen with the words "Gadaffi Dead". This Banner assumed I was interested enough in this fact to allow it to interrupt my viewing (and life) and further permeate my conscious..."this chap IS BAD!!"..it whispered..."lets celebrate at his death"...it suggested. Other people were shot and killed that night and I saw no banners relating to their demise, so why are the media so interested in altering my perception via these Banners.

I mention these two points because I can wholly guarantee that right now there are some very, very bad people doing very, very bad things in the world that we (the uninformed) know nothing about... because it suits no-one to tell us

Have you never heard of the term realpolitik?
If everyone took your principled viewpoint, we would never have teamed up with Stalin in WW2 and the world would be run by Nazis.
Moreover, if a thief stole your bike, you would have to simultaneously arrest all bike thieves at the same time to avoid being accused of pick-and-choose.
