So I've had the Samsung galaxy s5 since about a week or 2 after it came out. I am a huge fan of the Samsung galaxy range, find the very reliable and a lot more functional than the iPhone I also like the screen and the camera options much more. Anyhow been using strava since I got the bike but as I have the s5 samsung have provided me with a free year of endomondo sports tracker. This has made me enjoy the phone a lot more. I downloaded the app last night and off I went today on my commute. I find the app good for motivation and feedback tells you mile by mile feedback on whatever you want really which is nice.

Do any of you guys use this ?
And what's your thoughts

P's if you have an s5 give it a try it's free.

I have the S4, and I use Runtastic, has both road and MTB capability, and synch with my PC, which I cannot get Endomondo to do.

I've been using the free version of Endomondo for a couple of years. The non-pro version is free on the Google Play store, you don't need an S5 for it.
Strava seems popular too, Runtastic, and god knows how many others, all seem to offer something marginally different. I've stuck with Endomondo just because I've used it for so long and Zombies, Run! as well when out for a run.

ps.How you finding battery life on the S5?

I have an S5 and I've ignored the free offer. I'm not anal enough to want to analyse my cycling. A cycle computer counting my miles is as far as embrace technology for my cycling.

I do like the enhanced camera functions of the S5 though. I rarely take a digital camera with me now as the camera out performs what I have.

I've had the s5 about 10 days now and I really like it and I used to be proper team iPhone the battery is way better and easy to replace should it start to wear down.I use strava which suits my needs as a tracker for my activities.a good app is showbox for streaming films and shows.

The camera was really the selling point for me as I like taking pics and being able to edit them and the screen quality is really good for doing so. Don't think I have used an ordinary camera in a long time now either. I do like the cycle apps not to analyse but to map where I've been and also challenge myself on the same routes with my speed.

Thanks for the tip on the films. I've also owned an iPhone but just couldn't get used to it find Samsung easier to use. I do like strava but it seemed to miss out bits of my ride sometimes and foreclose at points which was rather annoying. I do use their online route builder though which is useful.

I like the Galaxy range as well, I've got a Fame, like vernon I only use a cycle computer to track my miles, I've no interest in using a phone ap to track my cycling.

I changed from an S2 to an S5 only yesterday and it is a lovely phone. I found an app called Mapmyride which I haven't tried yet but will give it a go over the weekend.

It's a good app I now use endomondo and strava to record my rides and view data. But now for direction purposes I use osmand I use this by creating routes on plotaroute.com downloading the gpx file of it to my phone and open the route in osmand works excellent. Maybe something you could also use ?
