Gardening..

I'm on the cusp of 40 and I've spent the last 7 hours dragging the garden out of it's winter slumber.

Still lots to do but getting there slowly, the "greenhouse" is a write off and going to be replaced by a brick bbq.

Pulled this weed out of the greenhouse (my 5 year old for comaprison) and my wife spent most of the time weeding the path..

To be honest when you get going and with the help of a beer it's not the worst thing in the world to be doing!.

Think I've deffinitely hit middle age..

Was it horseradish?, just looked like a weed..

Horse radish looks like a dock leaf but has crinkle cut edges. Oddly, I have spent time on the allotment today. Dug the runner bean trench and prepared the canes. Planted three rows of leeks and tried to dig out some horse radish. That stuff spreads like crazy.

Did my gardening duties today, cut the grass. Apart from that and any heavy lifting, the garden is strictly the domain of our lass.

My former colleagues got me vouchers for the local garden centre when I left a few weeks ago; thankfully they also sell a decent range of clothing and I managed to get a new jacket

Far from doing it wrong. Lawn is mowed, borders cleaned and weeded, roses and bushes all nicely done. All looks very nice and we'll kept, of which it is....but it's just so feckin boring to do.

You need to grow other stuff. There is a heather called Erica canaliculata or there's this, Clitoria

To a degree, I'm with @ianrauk on this! I truly love looking around nice gardens, seeing flowers, shrubs, trees etc!
But, actually doing it? Not so much!
