I'm doing more and more touring, and like to know not only where to turn next, but also more about the area I am cycling through (nearby towns etc). My v1 Bolt is good at the former but poor at the latter - I currently have my phone on a Quadlock mount next to the Bolt for that, but it is a clunky solution.
I'm thinking of treating myself to a Garmin 1040 which I understand will do both. But I'm a bit unsure about the touch screen - does anybody know if it will work in winter with thick gloves? (Obviously my phone doesn't, but I haven't shelled out extra money for it)
