My Garmin 500 has two small plastic lugs on the back which engage the handlebar mount. A sort of bayonet fitting.

I use this everyday for commuting and the lugs have worn away and it keeps popping out of the mount.

Have you seen this ?

Options as I see are 1) superglue to mount 2) return to Garmin for repair 3) buy a new one 4) other (please help !).

TIA.

Return to Garmin. They charge a flat fee of £62 (IIRC) and will send you a refurbished unit or repair yours. It is usually a very quick turn around. Cheaper than a replacement and you will most likely get a unit that looks brand new back.

If it had broken off, they might even replace/repair free of charge, they did for me.

I had a similar problem with my Polar. Instead of superglue you can get double sided foam tape about 2mm thick. The thickness makes it possible to stick some tape to the bottom of the 'puter and have it contact the inside of the mount. You can still remove the 'puter if necessary.
